9/17/2023 0 Comments Muse cafe menuWe have eaten in some fabulous restaurants and this certainly isn’t comparable. Cost of burger removed from the bill but not great food overall. Pasta very bland and burger rare even though we asked for well done. It arrived and tasted as though it had simply been poured in the holder without cooking off properly. Lamb dish was nice but very dry- I asked for a jus and opted for. We had the lamb fillet, wagu burger, pasta and chicken wrap. Went to Muse for my husband’s birthday and left very disappointed. You had a real opportunity here to earn a good tip and review but it was spoilt by rudeness. Reading your reviews it seems a common thing that the service is bad. I forgive the onion situation I admit I am partly to blame for not asking, but what I don’t forgive is bad service and rudeness. I’ve travelled around the world and never once complained about a meal or sent one back. You ruined my birthday, focused far too much on larger table behind us ( really wasn’t that busy as you had plenty time to stand around near the till area). After 15 minutes eventually someone asked if we wanted another drink but at this point we just wanted to leave, we asked for the bill and after 10 minutes still no bill, the server came back to the table and we asked for the bill again. Again he didn’t ask if our meals were ok, if we wanted dessert but he proceeded to walk off and show the other wait staff how much of my food was left. After sitting for over 25 minutes after my partner finished food eventually a staff member took our plates away. Not once did a server come back and ask if either of our meals were ok, whether we wanted anymore drinks etc. I really didn’t want to send this back again as I didn’t want to come across like a trouble maker. To my surprise my spaghetti wasn’t fully cooked and still hard in the centre. My meal then came within 10 minutes which was great as my Partner was already eating. The server seemed a little annoyed as he had taken my order but I really am not a person to ever complain or send food back. When my meal arrived it has onions in- which I’m aware this can happen so we asked the server if this could be changed. My carbonara even to the point of stating it contained chives. The menu very much in detail specified what was on the plate. Shortly after a large table arrived which delayed in us ordering our food. My cocktail was delicious and arrived quite promptly. I must admit it’s a beautiful place, lovely scenic views. Was celebrating my 30th birthday meal here. The new Cafe de Muse at Isetan Scotts is a welcome addition to the dining scene at Orchard. A combination of green tea powder, chewy bits and some sliced almonds provided the flavouring from the top. The Green Tea Bingsu was a hill of shaved ice with a treasure trove of red beans buried underneath. We picked the Green Tea Bingsu ($15.50) to go with some coffee. A number of Korean shaved ice desserts, bingsu, were available on display. I think the quality of their offerings went up a notch when it came to coffee and dessert. While the main part of the meal at Cafe de Muse in Isetan proceeded well enough, the best part arrived at the end. It is the kind of dish that I could eat if I am hungry at any time of the day. The fish was nicely cooked and served with quinoa salad, cucumber cumin salsa. The best hot dish was the grilled salmon ($28, picture below). The yellow pumpkin puree made the pasta look like mee goreng but the taste of pumpkin, sun-dried tomato, Parmesan cheese and pine nuts blended surprisingly well. The chicken quesadilla ($12 pictures above) and the pumpkin pasta ($22, picture below) were not gourmet dishes but good enough for brunch.
